Useful information for evaluating the item:
From our internet research, we have found that the four highest auction results achieved by Karl Tutter in the "ceramics" category range from over €1,100 to €1,200, while in the "sculptures-volume" category, the top four auction results range from €800 to €4,200. We also found children, similar in style, dressed in Arab clothing, only 22 centimeters tall, estimated at €1,200-1,500, from Doretheum in Vienna, Austria, auction on 21/03/2016, lot number 48, entitled "Fischhändler (c.1926/30)" and lot number 46 entitled "Weinhändler (c.1926/30)". Information about the artist and/or manufacturer:
The German manufacturer Hutschenreuther was founded in 1814 in Hohenberg, Bavaria, and is still in business today. Since 2000, it has been owned by Rosenthal, another famous German manufacturer. The item was created by Karl Tutter (1883-1969), an Austro-German sculptor, painter, and porcelain manufacturer, who collaborated with the Hutschenreuther factory for many years, becoming one of its most important and prominent representatives. A quick search on the internet will easily reveal historical notes on the famous Hutschenreuther factory and biographical notes on Karl Tutter.
