A stunning opaline blown glass sculpture depicting a rooster, with shades ranging from white to pale yellow ochre, created in Murano by the renowned artist Archimede Seguso. Part of the red stamp typical of his artistic production, dating back to around 1950, is visible under the base.
Final considerations on the object:
The artistic quality of the sculpture is very high; opaline glass is also much more valuable than simple clear or colored glass, and in this sculpture, the glass is quite thick and heavy. Under the base is the typical seal of artistic productions made by the Seguso glassworks, in red with yellow lettering. Unfortunately, part of it has been detached and is not clearly visible, but as shown in the photo, the red background and part of the name "Archimede," specifically "Chimed," written in gold, make this an authentic and highly valuable object.
Information on the artist and/or manufacturer:
Archimede Seguso (Murano, December 17, 1909 – Murano, September 6, 1999) was an Italian entrepreneur and master glassmaker. Considered "a living encyclopedia of glass" (as Giuseppe Cappa described him in his book "Le Genie Verrier de L’Europe"), he was one of the most renowned Venetian glassmakers, particularly distinguished in the crafting of heavy glass (known as massello). He achieved numerous auction results and is the object of thousands of collectors. This piece has an attribution mark,
