The end panels are in contrasting lighter shades, decorated with beautiful hand-painted overlapping geometric patterns and circles in characteristic Tuareg turquoise green, red, and black tones. Black leather fringes are sewn onto each end. Wear and tear, proportional to the age, is shown in the photos and confirms the authenticity of the piece. A truly incredible finish. Originally a tent cushion, it makes an unusual and eye-catching wall hanging, an exceptional collector's item. History: The Tuareg people are a large Berber ethnic confederation. They mainly inhabit the Sahara in a vast area stretching from the extreme south-west of Libya to southern Algeria, Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Beautiful patina, one of a kind, circa 1960. See less
