Chinese green turtle gongshi, a nauturally formed riverstone in the shape of a turtle from Anhui province, China, with a waxy, olive green surface with glossy highlights, copious scattered pitting, anfractuous voids and crevices, all smoothed by river waters, mounted on a polished, custom fitted, Chinese hongmu base. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
Wood stand: 7/8" high x 6 1/4" long x 4 1/4" deep
stone: 2 1/4" high x 5 5/8" wide x 4 1/4" deep.
