Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai hexagonal bitong, a finely formed, six-sided brush pot with a sky-blue glazed exterior, a large, turquoise glazed lip, interior and circular inset, which is centered on the unglazed base, all covered with a very fine, small pattern, iron wire craquelure. A red, Da Ya Zhai mark with a red and white, Tian Di Yi Jia Chun cartouche is glazed below the lip. The body of the brushpot is covered with a dense pattern of plum tree branches with red blossoms and perching magp[ies, all in low relief. A red and white, Yong Qing Chan Chun, Guangxu mark is glazed to the circular inset on the base. Circa Republic of china era, no later than mid century.
