The rooms were small everywhere, and the furniture was delicate. The armchair was exquisitely designed and built by the GDR's most prominent and traditional manufacturer, the Deutsche Werkstätten Dresden Hellerau. The material used was innovative, with the frame made of beech plywood, which is steam-bent, stable and durable, offering high load-bearing capacity despite its low thickness. The sculptural armchair with its transparent profile is comfortable thanks to the spring-loaded seat padding.

We present a typical piece of German post-war modernism here: the armchair by Selman Selmanagić for VEB Deutsche Werkstätten Dresden Hellerau. Our example is in very good condition, showing few signs of wear. Even the original manufacturer's mark under the crossbar is still clearly visible. The upholstery and cover had to be replaced according to the original model.
