The dense, heavy, and therefore very durable divan cover, decorated in Cubist style and horizontally mirrored, measures a respectable size of almost 3 meters long and 136 cm high. Such coverlets served as throws or draperies on sofas or as tablecloths for large dining tables in the living room. Our example is still reasonably well preserved overall and features rich Cubist-style decoration.
Few signs of wear. Upholstery velvet is a heavy, dense fabric. In the case of our divan cover, the pile is made of wool, decorated in Cubist style and horizontally mirrored. It is woven with a very dense, sturdy cotton fabric as a backing. Slight pile loss and small stains are traces of time.
