For sale, a very rare and vintage dining set originally manufactured and sold by Century Furniture. This Serpentine Rectangular Table is just 1 of 35 made and has a double leaf extension that seats up to 8 comfortably. This grand dining set, exquisitely crafted from solid mahogany, embodies the timeless elegance of Georgian style.
It features a lustrous hand-polished finish, showcasing the deep warmth of the wood grain. The repeating geometric carved inlay around the tables edge, adds a subtle yet elegant decorative detail, and is supported by gracefully curved legs with intricate carved acanthus details. This set includes six side chairs with carved backrests and upholstered seats. The two end chairs feature fully upholstered backrests and seats, offering added comfort and a touch of formal elegance at each end of the table.
Perfectly balanced between stately grandeur and refined craftsmanship, this set is a striking centerpiece for formal dining rooms, echoing the sophistication of 18th-century English design. The solid Mahogony is free of any … moreThe craftsmanship of this entire set is top quality, beautifully constructed and strong. The solid Mahogony is free of any knots or blemishes and remains in perfect showroom condition throughout. Having lived its life in a temperature controlled, non-smoking environment, the fabric and wood throughout remains in pristine condition. No spills, stains, or scratches have besmirched its appearance. As seen in the images, even all factory stickers remain as they were, perfectly preserved like a time capsule. TABLE The tabletop features an exquisite symmetrical book matched grain layout with inlay patterns that perfectly complement its serpentine shape. The hand rubbed finish blends naturally from satin to semi-gloss, with beautifully aged distressing and antique brass hardware from factory. The table also features two deep drawers on both ends for convenient linen and silverware storage (please note: the silverware in the image is only for demonstration purposes, and not part of the sale of this dining set). The table has two extension leaves, each 22” in length, so the overall table length can be easily adjusted. Please note, the images of the table show 1 extension leaf installed. • Table length w/out extension: 76” • Table length w/ one extension: 98” (as shown in the images) • Table length w/ two extensions: 120” CHAIRS This dining set includes eight chairs. Two armed end chairs with upholstered backs and seats, and six armless side chairs with open carved wooden backs and upholstered seats. The upholstery is not original, updated to reflect a more contemporary aesthetic, in an off-white silk fabric embroidered with grey and gold square polka dots in a diamond pattern - at a cost of over $2000 dollars. The work was completed by Queen Anne Upholstery and Refinishing, a highly regarded firm in Seattle, in business since 1936…for good reason. The seats are supportive and comfortable, with no sagging or signs of wear of any kind. less
