They are hand crafted and hand painted porcelain with 22 carat gold with beautiful embellishments. Commanding in stature and beauty. The persimmon color of a burnt hue for both the male and female have a mariage of decoration. They are stunning and
a special exquisite example of Japanese 20th Century Arts and a lost art form no doubt. The foo dogs are ferocious shishi lions with very detailed Kutano style hand painted and detailed overglazed enamels of painted porcelain. Foo dogs are meant to protect your home and surroundings. These were done with great artistry and immaculate precision. They stand regal, stately and statuesque with beautiful detail. The glossy body is red brown persimmon with raised relief patterns of designs in Kutani colors of blue, orange, white, yellow and green. There is a partial sticker on the bottom that reads Wildwood who was the importer.
Excellent vintage condition. They are beyond mesmerizing with their detail and history. I would keep them only indoors. Again in recap, RARE RARE, elegant and stunning. You will love these.
