A polychrome, glazed, majolica hard ceramic sculpture depicting a pair of deer in the Art Deco style, signed under the base by the Goldscheider factory and numbered. The artistic quality is exceptional; note the beautiful craquelure, intentionally created by heating the object and immediately immersing it in cold water. The beautiful base is finished in a metallic lustre with green highlights in various shades, reminiscent of Vietri ceramics from the German period of the 1930s. A beautiful piece in true Art Deco style, offered at an excellent price.
Useful information for item valuation:
from our online research, we found that the top four highest prices achieved by the Goldscheider factory range from €11,000 to €23,000 (with auction fees, they exceed €29,000), all for large Orientalist terracotta sculptures. Meanwhile, for Art Deco ladies in soft glazed porcelain, prices range from a minimum of €1,000-1,200 to a maximum of €6,000-7,000. Majolica ceramic animals, such as dogs or stylized Art Deco deer similar to ours, range from a minimum of €200-300 to even €1,500-2,000 and more, depending on the size, beauty, and importance of the artist who created them. This gives an idea of the value of the ceramics produced by the Goldscheider factory.
