Presenting the 1972 Artemide Tizio Terra – a manifesto of functionalism and a kinetic sculpture in one.
This revolutionary floor lamp forever cast new light on the very concept of lamp design. Designed by Richard Sapper for Artemide in 1972, the Tizio's secret lies in its brilliant counterweight system. The articulated arms move smoothly and effortlessly in any direction, holding their position with exceptional precision, all without the use of traditional springs. What's more, the low-voltage current flows through the structure itself, ingeniously eliminating the clutter of unsightly wires.
The Tizio Terra version takes this design icon from the desk to the floor, elevating it to the status of an independent, sculptural object in the space. It not only illuminates but also defines the interior with its timeless industrial elegance.
This lamp is more than just a source of light – it's a statement of design sophistication, and a tribute to the enduring power of Italian innovation.
