David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject fo more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included n the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

In 1977 Hockney created one of his most praised and iconic artworks titled " My Parents. The painting is poised between art and life, between Hockney's intellectual interests as a painter and his desire to put his parents before us. He completed the work after two failed attempts at painting his parents, Kenneth and Laura Hockney. like an Old Masters painting it is full of symbolism. Their poses reflect their personalities, Laura gazing at the viewer, Kenneth, known for fidgeting during sittings, is reading as though he has forgotten he is being observed.

It is nostalgic for his childhood, for the simple and understandable world, and a declaration of his love for his parents. Hockney captured them wonderfully, their likeness of course, and it was also full of love and empathy, a truthful painting with all the characteristics of a true Hockney masterpiece.

The rare out of print framed lithograph print museum poster measures 25" W X 33" h X 7/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern aqua turquoise blue matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. the poster print is in excellent " like new " vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
