Originally crafted as a drum from the island of Java, Indonesia, its history is still evident in the evenly spaced holes along the rim—once used to secure a drum skin tightly in place. Over time, the piece has taken on new life as a sculptural bowl, blending utilitarian heritage with modern aesthetic sensibility. The burl wood showcases intricate swirls, knots, and organic figuring, with a warm, earthy patina developed through age and use. Natural erosion and wear along the rim and base add texture and character, enhancing its rustic charm. This one-of-a-kind object embodies both craftsmanship and cultural history—perfect as a centerpiece, vessel, or conversation piece in any curated space. See less
