Beautiful architecturally framed British colored lithograph of James Scott, the 1st Duke of Monmouth. He was the Key Illegitimate son of Charles I, and led a rebellion against James II but was defeated - and beheaded for treason in 1685. Published 1820 by G. Smeeton, St. Martin’s Church Yard.
