This is a rare "Presentation Proof" color lithograph by acclaimed Native American artist R.C. Gorman, titled Yvonne (1979). Known as the "Picasso of American Indian artists," Gorman’s work is celebrated for its graceful depictions of Navajo women, and this image is a fine example of his style and subject matter.
This piece is a Presentation Proof (annotated "Presentation Proof" at lower right), hand-signed by the artist and dated 1979 at lower left. Also features the embossed RC Gorman chop mark
The artwork is professionally framed in a beautifully hand-carved wood frame with floral and scrollwork detail that complements the subject perfectly. The mat has an attractive linen texture, enhancing the presentation.
The verso bears a gallery label from Indigo Gallery, Fort Collins, Colorado, indicating prior gallery provenance.
