A stunning example of the Mexican Folk Art pottery produced in the renown ceramics center Barrio de la Luz in Puebla (Centro Alfarrero del Barrio de la Luz)
A hanging planter or cache pot, "maceta colgante"
Nicely shaped and very well elaborated with finely twisted decoration around, in the style typical of the turn of the 20th century Barrio de la Luz production
There are holes for draining, the finial is also open, additionally three holes to the sides for hanging
Glossy glaze in dark and lighter brown, imitating tortoise shell, "barro vidriado"
A very RARE find, it is virtually impossible to come by one in this state of preservation nowadays, a museum piece.
Circa late 19th/early 20th century, Puebla, Mexico
Measurements: Approximately 6" high x 10.5" diameter (across)

Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. No cracks, chips, hairlines or restorations at all, whatsoever. Just a few minor spots of wear to the glaze, commensurate with age and use. Great patina. All original See less
