This Really is a Great Looking & Very Unusual Cast Iron Figurative Dachshund Dog Combination Doorstop - Boot Scraper. Circa … Read more This Really is a Great Looking & Very Unusual Cast Iron Figurative Dachshund Dog Combination Doorstop - Boot Scraper. Circa 1930s. It has No Maker Marks but I am Sure that it is American in Origin. It is Quite Large in Size Measuring 21 1/2 inches Long. It is Also Very Heavy - Solid Cast Weighing Well Over 24 Pounds. This would have actually been made to be Used on a Porch Setting. The Tail is Designed - Acts as a Finger Hole so that it can be Carried & Moved Easily. Reason being you would not want to scrape your muddy boots on the porch so you could move it to the lawn. NOTE That it is Hand Painted "THE BARNEYS" on One Side of the Boot Scraper Bar This Most Likely Original Owners Family Name. The Condition is Very Good with No Damage or Repairs to the Casting. Cosmetically it is Totally Untouched Just Exactly as it was When it was Removed from its Original Setting. The Surfaces are Naturally Aged, Rustic, Weathered & Textured Giving it that Wonderful Authentic Old Look that Cannot be Duplicated.
