* The Italian lighting designer Oscar Torlasco (born in Rome, 1934-2004) designed for a wide range of Italian lighting manufacturers, including Esperia and Stilkronen. However, he spent most of his career designing for Lumi.
Torlasco was primarily active during the 1950s and 60s, combining industrial chrome-plated steel with luxurious materials such as marble, crystal, and brass in his lighting designs—which include wall sconces, floor lamps, and chandeliers. His versatile designs ranged in style from industrial to Space Age to Art Deco. Torlasco's trademark was the use of optical glass lenses in his designs.
