Produced in the 1970s, each table features a bookmatched olive burl veneer across the drawer front, creating a visually rich and symmetrical grain pattern that highlights the natural complexity of the wood. The surfaces are finished in a warm, honey-toned satin lacquer that accentuates the depth and character of the burl.
The design is sleek and architectural, with a rectilinear profile and no visible hardware. Instead, the drawers open via integrated upper lips, maintaining a seamless appearance. Inside, the drawers are clean and spacious, and each includes an original white laminate pull-out tray, designed to slide smoothly over the top of the drawer for added surface space- ideal for bedside use or entertaining.
Constructed with Lane's hallmark quality, the interior drawers are made of solid wood with dovetail joinery and are stamped with the Lane logo and production origin: Altavista, Virginia. The backs of the cabinets retain the original factory serial numbers and model codes, aiding in identification and authenticity.
These cabinets are elevated slightly on recessed plinth bases that give the form a floating effect and keep the footprint minimal. Their scale and function make them ideal as nightstands, sofa end tables, or even compact storage cabinets in a modern office.In very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear throughout.
The burl veneer shows some light natural variations and age-related patina. The white pull-out trays show some surface wear consistent with use. Backs have scuffing and marks from previous placement against walls, but these do not affect structural integrity or visual impact when in use.
