A columnar, French mahogany and marble top bedside table from the 19th century in the Louis Philippe style, that has the scale and storage to suit practically any room around the home. The top surface is an expressive piece of St. Anne marble with “dish top” carved to a low rim around the circumference. It rests on a short capital that tapers into the cylindrical cabinet which is wrapped in exotic flamed mahogany grain. Inside are two shelves, 9 ⅝” deep, to keep eyeglasses, books, and other personal effects near but out of sight. The whole sits off the floor on a round plinth base.
