His body is hand constructed on a red heart shaped wooden base. His robe, gloves, and hat are hand stitched and trimmed in vintage dark chocolate brown mink fur. A large red heart is hand appliquéd on the back of his robe. His face is hand sculpted with inset blue eyes and a mohair beard. He also features a teddy bear with a red bow, a basket filled with love letters and candy shapes, and on the back side he has a bottle of red glitter, “love potion” suspended from his hand braided red belt. Handcrafted in the historical German heritage town of Walhalla, South Carolina, in the Southern Appalachian foothills, by artist Jan Watson lenartowicz and is signed on the bottom.
