A wonderful sculpture in fine polychrome hard-paste porcelain, entirely hand-decorated and glazed, depicting a pair of young red foxes, made by the famous German manufacturer Hutschenreuther around 1940. Marked under the base with the manufacturer's mark and a small plate indicating the artist, but the name is almost completely erased. The porcelain is of excellent quality, rich in kaolin and feldspar, which allowed for a rich and brilliant glazing of the sculpture during the second firing at high temperatures.

Useful information for evaluating the object:
From an internet search, we find that the most important and largest sculptures from this manufacturer are offered online at very high prices ranging from €1,500 to over €5,000. For smaller sculptures, such as ours, prices range from €400-500 to €1,200-1,500. This is to give an idea of the value of Hutschnreuther porcelain.

Information about the artist and/or manufacturer:
The German manufacturer Hutschenreuther was founded in 1814 in Hohenberg, Bavaria, and is still in business today. Since 2000, it has been owned by Rosenthal, another famous German manufacturer. In the early 20th century, the manufacturer also collaborated with Meissen, the most important German manufacturer of all. The manufacturer is known internationally mainly for its porcelain sculptures depicting animals, made with great attention to detail and the highest quality workmanship.
