the chair has been made to immortalize kind richard the lionheart, this would have been a very expensive and fashionable piece in its day and it showed you were a true royalist condition wise for the period is sublime, this chair is so tactile, and the patina is to die for, think how many hundreds and maybe thousands of people have used this chair, how many centuries of love and use it took to get looking like this, if the age on the back rest is correct this chair is 410 years old! to put that in to context, the declaration of independence was signed 249 years ago so its 161 years older than the formation of the united states
