A lovely pair of finely modeled early 19th century French or Northern European pewter three light candelabra retaining traces of silver gilding, the distinctive plinth design based on the work of Pierre Philippe Thomire (1751-1843), the renowned and influential French metalsmith who worked for both the French Royal Family and Napoleon. The winged putto figure appears to support the candelabra on his head with one hand. Later adapted into lamps. Linen corset drum shades. Good antique condition, with signs of age and typical artisanal irregularities. The candelabra were later adapted into lamps, modern wiring.
