Inspired by a trip to the wetlands in Hokkaido Japan, (Kushiro, where the wild cranes can be found amongst the mesmerizingly yellow grasses), I tried to express a serene yet invigorating landscape.
The range of color, layers and varied oil brushstrokes give "Summer Sun" depth and movement. It is so fresh and peaceful, it's hard to take your eyes off of it! The palette consists of a range of different hues, including yellow, green, pale blue, turquoise and brown. See photos as to how it looks to scale in various settings. The 1.5" edge is matte white.
