It would be hard to imagine any cocky tech bro prouder of his new Verde Mantis (Green) Lambo than this dewy-eyed farmer with his most productive bovine, hopefully the source of a divine cheese.
Done in the classic palette of Provence, and abundant with the area’s renowned grape clusters, sunflowers and pears, it comes with a promise to transport you to that land of eternal sunshine (well, except for the Mistral season).
The creator, Suzanne Etienne, makes her home in a similarly abundant area, Oregon’s Rogue Valley. She lives and works specifically in Ashland, an artistic-focused community world-renowned for its annual Shakespeare festival. Drawing from her surroundings, Etienne paints the valley’s gardens, farms and vistas in an Impressionist style rendered in vibrant colors.
There’s a storytelling element to this artist’s work, incorporating roosters, books, teapots, wine bottles and even cows. But her paintings are often inspired by picturesque spots from her travels. Shouldn’t there be some great story to go with this picture, especially after a nice little glass of Pastis? See less
