This Antique Persian Melayer Runner, measuring 3'3" x 15'11", is handwoven with wool on a cotton foundation in Iran’s Hamadan region. Persian rug weaving, an integral element of Iranian art and culture, has roots tracing back to the Bronze Age. The oldest existing Persian rugs date from the 16th century Safavid dynasty, reflecting centuries of rich craftsmanship and tradition.
