Pair of large blown glass vases – Gordiola Glassworks, early 20th century
A superb pair of hand-blown glass vases, made by the renowned Gordiola glassworks in Mallorca in the early 20th century. These imposing pieces display the lightness and irregularities typical of handcrafted glass, demonstrating expertise passed down since the 18th century. The Gordiola glassworks dates back to 1719, when master glassmaker Blas Rigal obtained permission to build a glass furnace in Palma, financed by the Catalan-Aragonese Gordiola family. Since then, the factory has become emblematic of the art of blown glass in Mallorca. These vases, in perfect condition, offer beautiful transparency and an elegant curved shape.
