Grand bespoke cotton-sateen down wrapped sofa custom designed original designs after George Smith, London UK. The bespoke "Chinoiserie sofa" was a commissioned piece. The hardwood frame is upholstered with an opulent, "Chinoiserie Peacock" yellow and cream custom made brushed cotton fabric. The peacock is admired for its gorgeous plumage. In ancient China, it symbolized grace, refinement, and rank. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, peacock feathers were worn on official hats to mark status and honor. Thus, the bird became associated with prosperity, fame, and success.. This bespoke custom sofa is one of twelve constructed for The Fifth Estate.
