An extraordinary and monumental seven-panel zitan screen from the late Qing Dynasty, dating to the Late 19th century. Masterfully crafted and richly decorated on both sides, the front features exquisite hardstone inlays forming intricate arrangements of auspicious objects, fruits, flowering branches, and rockeries. Each panel is framed within an elaborately pierced foliate-carved zitan border, topped with a grand arched pediment.
The reverse side showcases a delicately painted traditional Chinese landscape scene, depicting a sweeping natural vista of mountains, water, and rural life—executed with expressive, refined work. The screen rests on a finely carved, fitted zitan base, adding both support and elegance.
