Hand carved. Good condition. Sirio Pellegrini, born in Rome on March 1, 1922, of Abruzzo origins (Capestrano), spent his childhood years in Rome, in the heart of the old city, behind the Academy of S. Cecilia. He took part in the Second World War as an interpreter of the English and French languages, despite being of antimilitarist ideas. At the end of the conflict he was hired by the Ministry of Transport. During his free time he devoted himself with interest to cinematography, and, in the wake of the neorealist trend of that period, he filmed a documentary on the Roman suburbs with the music of Maestro Zafred. This documentary is now in the National Archive of the Workers' Movement. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
