The commode is very … Read more Neoclassical commode hand-made in Italy in the mid 1900s using walnut and decorated with walnut veneer. The commode is very straight in lines and features two overlay drawers with ogee edges and flat drawer fronts. along the edge of the drawer fronts, the top and the flat sides, the chest is decorated with a thick inlaid banding framed by two thinner ones, and on the center we can see a geometrical inlaid shape. The chest sits on long, tapered legs and lacks hard-ware, as typical of the style. The drawers can be opened using a key, as shown in the video.
Overall this is really cute and fun size chest; usually Italian neoclassical commodes are large and requires a bit of space in a home, however, this one can be placed anywhere, be it an apartment or a house. Its color is very modern, which combines with the straight lines and the inlaid decorations make it perfect piece for whoever is looking for a piece that has timeless lines and looks, but will also look fantastic in a modern context.
