The p40 chair by osvaldo borsani for tecno from the 1950s is an italian design icon that unites comfort and engineering in one refined piece for your interior. Designed in 1954 by osvaldo borsani for tecno, the chair was first purchased by its original owner in 1972. It features a reclining backrest, extendable footrest, movable headrest and articulated armrests—offering comfort in both upright and fully reclined positions. Its distinctive silhouette, black lacquered metal frame and brass detailing reflect the spirit of postwar italian modernism, where technical ingenuity and material expression converged. Originally conceived as a reclining chair, the p40 also adapts beautifully to stylish lounge and office settings. Internationally recognized as a design classic, it is part of the moma collection in new york. Dimensions: 90–96 x 73 x 89–170 cm (35.4–37.8 x 28.7 x 35.0–66.9 in). Signed in four places: two tecno milano labels under the seat and two brass tecno logos with red “t” on either side. The condition of this p40 chair is excellent. It has been professionally restored with new black leather upholstery, including fresh padding and reupholstered armrests. The black frame shows only minor signs of use and a light patina consistent with its age. All original brass screws, fittings, and tecno emblems have been preserved. Its refined mechanics and durable materials make this chair both a comfortable seating solution and a long-term investment for collectors of italian modern design. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,

or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
