This is a beautiful hand-painted earthenware bowl from Deruta Italy.
Deruta pottery, known for its vibrant majolica, is primarily made from earthenware (clay), specifically tin-glazed earthenware. This earthenware is then twice fired, once to create the base and then after glazing. The glaze, a key element, is typically a tin oxide glaze, which allows for the brilliant colors and designs characteristic of Deruta ware.
