"Rainy Night, Kyoto" is an abstract Cityscape done in oil paint on thick canvas. The indigo and purplish blue colors of the sky are applied with loose brushstrokes of different thicknesses that capture the looming buildings and overhanging wires. The warm ochre colors contrast beautifully with the sky. It is a very impressionistic painting, done from the memory of the scene and the feelings it evoked rather than an image. Edge is 1 inch. Signed and dated on the front and back. Certificate of authenticity.
