Beautiful sculpture in ceramic casting, polychrome, enameled and glazed with third-fire firing, depicting a loving little girl with jacket, bonnet hat and bouquet of flowers, made by the important Austrian manufacturer Goldscheider, signed and numbered on the back with engraved mark. On the base there is also the signature, impressed in italics by the artist: "Muller", object datable to the first decades of the 20th century, 1900-1920.
Useful information for the evaluation of the object:
In the last photo we have put the cataloging of the proposed sculpture, number 5004, of the Goldscheider catalog. from our research on the internet, we have found that the first 4 maximum results achieved by the Goldscheider factory range from €11,000 to €23,000 (with auction fees we go over €29,000), all for large orientalist terracotta sculptures, while for the deco ladies, in soft glazed porcelain, they range from a minimum of €1,000-1,200 up to maximum peaks of €6,000-7,000. For the glazed polychrome earthenware sculptures in Liberty style with usually soft and delicate coloring, like ours, the auction results and requests on the best online sales platforms for art and antiques, range from a minimum of €400-500 up to €1,500-2,000. All this to give an idea of the value of the ceramics of this factory.
Final considerations on the object:
The sculpture is very similar to the ladies with flowers created by the great Austrian ceramist Michael Powolny and is made in full Liberty - Art Nouveau style, extremely expressive, with a sweet and thoughtful face. Both the flowers and the enamels, with soft and delicate colors, clearly follow the dictates of the Liberty style, the delicate polychromy gives the sculpture a wonderful flavor of evanescence, a real touch of class that makes the sculpture diaphanous and soft. A rare and collectible object.
