Another very rare find: I haven't seen another!
This amazing sculptural, mid-century ceramic vase is attributed to Bitossi for Raymor, c. 1960s. This cylindrical vessel is topped with a dramatic, gear-like finial, blending Italian artistry with Brutalist-industrial form. A true collector’s piece.
The surface glaze features layered tones of oxidized bronze, copper, emerald green, navy, and ochre, with speckling, drips, and textural variations that evoke aged metal and volcanic stone. The finish is hand-applied and highly tactile, demonstrating the studio character and experimentation Bitossi was known for under the direction of Aldo Londi.
Marked on the underside with model code “8521B” (a Raymor system code confirming Bitossi as the maker), and retains its original Raymor label: “Modern in the Tradition of Good Taste.” This piece embodies the intersection of craft and industry, perfect for modernist, sculptural, or brutalist interiors, and of course an incredibly rare catch for Bitossi collectors.
