Remondini Architectural Views Bassano 1770 circa. Series of four copper engravings, coloured at the time. The optical views published by the Remondinis fully represent the Italian popular press: simple in the line, coloured with a few shades in a rapid and decisive manner, they fascinate for their immediacy and have been the subject of numerous exhibitions, collections and studies in recent years. The views were prepared to be included in the New World, where the common people could see them illuminated and thus learn about the cities of the world.
In detail they depict the Quirinale Palace in Rome, the Viceroy's Palace in Naples, the Arsenal Palace in Berlin and finally the view of the Piazza Grande in Parma.
The Remondinis were a family of printers operating in Bassano, giving rise to one of the most important copperplate engravings in Europe, reaching its maximum splendor in the second half of the eighteenth century; it closed its doors in 1861.
The engravings are presented in old frames with a gilded profile; They are in good condition, trimmed at the edges. This piece has an attribution mark,
