A rare collaboration between emerging Houston outsider artist Ooowwee Walker and established Austin folk artist Papa Goyo. Acrylic on stretched canvas over wood, not framed. Signed on recto and en verso.
Born in West Africa, Walker’s work demonstrates terrific color, vibrancy, and joy. Entirely self-taught, he sells his works on the streets of downtown and midtown Houston. Papa Goyo (Greg Weismantel) has attracted a diverse and broad following over his twenty-plus years as a local celebrity and abstract folk artist. His art spans from intricate sculpture to painterly abstraction to illustration and his works have been displayed in galleries from coast to coast and a major corporation in Austin, Texas.
