A pair of extraordinary handblown vintage signed glass vases, known as "Sjögräs" (translates to sea grass or seaweed) made and signed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, Sweden. The shape of these vases are elegant as a teardrop, with green strikes imbedded in the glass as well as air bubbles, giving it an impression of being under water. In order to reinforce this optic illusion, there are also two beautifully engraved fishes, one on each side of the larger vase, the other just has green "seeweed" strikes hence its name. The vases are signed and in really good condition, there is only a very small nick underneath and on one of the sides one of the air bubbles are close to the surface when produced on the large vase and a faint mark on the smaller one, nevertheless are they in a fantastic vases and will add to any collection.
The larger one 23cm (9.05") high and 15cm (5.90") wide and 9cm (3.54") deep. NOTE that this is a very heavy object with a weight of just over 4kg (8.81 lbs).
The smaller one is 20cm (7.87") high and 9cm (3.54") wide and 5cm (1.96") deep. This piece has an attribution mark,
