A rare excellent First Edition vintage monochrome photogravure (print) after pencil drawing Portrait of Algernon Charles Swinburne by 19th century English artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Comes from a rare First Limited and Only Edition art folio published by Budapest, Hungary, in 1959. Printed on one side of high quality paper. Name of artist on the back is related to another piece in the folio. Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never framed.
The original artwork is 10 and 15/16"H x 10 and 5/16"W.
Dante Gabriel Rossetti, original name Gabriel Charles Dante Rossetti, (born May 12, 1828, London, England—died April 9, 1882, Birchington-on-Sea, Kent), English painter and poet who helped found the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of painters treating religious, moral, and medieval subjects in a nonacademic manner. Dante Gabriel was the most celebrated member of the Rossetti family.
