Two-handled ceramic vase, entirely hand-modeled on a potter's wheel, glazed and vitrified, entirely hand-decorated with flowers, black leaves, and white … Read more Two-handled ceramic vase, entirely hand-modeled on a potter's wheel, glazed and vitrified, entirely hand-decorated with flowers, black leaves, and white dots on a brownish background, in the classic futurist decorations of the Roman Secession. Under the base, the vase bears the number 7-4-A and the inscription, not clearly legible, "Roma" with a number or acronym of the artist, perhaps 71? or 21? More likely 21 because the vase can definitely be dated to the early decades of the 1900s, or it is an acronym that we have not been able to decipher. In any case, we are definitely talking about a vase made in Rome, which closely resembles the style of vases made by the greatest Roman artists of the 1900s, such as Palazzi or Rosati. See less
