This decorative scroll features a powerful composition of Shinto deities and mythological figures, framed by elegant kanji calligraphy. At the center stands Amaterasu Ōmikami, the sun goddess and mythical ancestor of the Japanese imperial family, flanked by Hachiman Ōkami (god of war) and Kasuga Ōkami (deity of prosperity).

The text refers to a classic passage from the Kojiki (712 CE), where Amaterasu commands her grandson to descend to earth and rule Japan—a foundational myth of imperial legitimacy and divine descent.

In good condition with a natural patina and minor historical restorations. The lower panel shows Amaterasu in radiant form, accompanied by two warriors on horseback and stag—executed in refined, traditional lines.

A striking piece that fits beautifully in a Japandi-style interior, meditation space, or as a spiritual focal point on a minimalist wall.
