This vintage Turkish Tulu rug, measuring 4' x 4'5", is handwoven in the Konya region of Central Turkey using soft Angora wool on a wool kilim foundation. Known as "Tulu," meaning "hairy," these rugs feature hand-knotted, lustrous Angora fibers. Traditionally crafted by nomadic tribes across Central Asia, Tulus served as warm blankets and mattresses during harsh winters on the Anatolian plateau. Today, their vibrant colors and striking geometric patterns make them prized tribal textiles with both historical significance and decorative appeal.
These works of art have become a must have as an accent piece in a contemporary setting.
