Demi-lune consoles hand-made in Italy in the late 1700s using pegged construction. The pair of tables has gorgeous lines and beautiful color, and can be used as console tables against a wall, but also together to make a slightly oval center table (shown in video). The consoles have gorgeous, hand-carved, curvy lyre legs, which give them a lot of depth and make them highly decorative. These are your quintessential Italian table legs, where structure is beautifully paired with beauty. The legs are cantered and connected with a stretcher dovetailed into each leg, and two diagonal cross members help stabilizing the structure. The tops are cut in a demi-lune shape with rounded edges and are dovetailed into the legs. under the top one console features a hook, whereas the other has a iron ring to hook the tables to each other and create a beautiful center table, with very intricate legs.
Overall these two console tables are just drop dead gorgeous, the patina accumulated over the centuries gives them a beautiful, warm brown color and the irregularities given by use provide it with unique character. These two beauties would be stunning in an entryway or hallway, and their versatility make them the type of piece that can easily follow you wherever you may move next.
