(patent applied) table lamp by poul henningsen made between 1926-1928 by louis poulsen, copenhagen. This extra large model 4/3 ph-lamp is made from chromed brass and is equipped with the original single-layered opaline glass shades. These went out of production in the mid 1930s when lp switched to two-layered glass shades. The placement of the bulb and the height of the lamp can be adjusted by turning the ring below the switch house. Original through-going switch and finger screws to secure lower shade. Stamped "pat. Appl" inside top cover. Notice that the upper shade on the 4/3 model is 40 cm. Diameter making it a much more impressive lamp than the more common 3/2 model. Provenance: this lamp was bought from the family of the original owners who bought the lamp in the late 1920s. It has never before been put up for sale. this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
