The sculpture was carved from a single piece of wood. Signed by the artist. Circa 1925.
Inscribed on the underside: Edition S.A.S. Paris. Made in France. Numbered.
The Societé des Artistes de Salon (S.A.S.) was a French artists' association to which Jacques Adnet, Georges Hilbert, and Joel Martel were also members.
Further information about the artist and the object is available upon request. According to the Thünen Institute for Wood Research in Hamburg, this piece is not Brazilian rosewood. This piece has an attribution mark,
