Retaining its original painted finish — now softened to a beautifully aged surface with authentic crackling, oxidation and speckling — this piece embodies the character of primitive Americana. Originally made as a doorstop or hearth ornament, this heavy iron dog now makes an exceptional decorative accent for rustic lodge style, English country interiors, equestrian rooms, hunt clubs, cabins, and masculine libraries. The stance is alert and purposeful, tail lifted, and body slightly forward — instantly recognizable to those who adore sporting breeds. Measures approximately 15.5” long, 8.25” tall and 4” deep.
