The chrome body is suggestive of a pencil in form, on round disk form base. Robert Sonneman designed "pencil lamps" characterized by their sleek, minimalist chrome aesthetic for George Kovacs. These lamps popular in the mid 20th century exemplify Sonneman focus on industrial design and his aim to glorify the industrial aesthetic in lighting. These lamps are heavily weighted on the bottom, and are not lightweight copies, they are of the era, and are in excellent condition, with minor wear. See less
