This pair of wide limestone vases is reminiscent of tazzas in that they are wide and shallow. Hand-carved in Italy, the richness of the carvings is accentuated by the light gray hue of the limestone, which has subtle white accents.
A ring of gadroon adorns the base of each vase, just below a cavetto undercut and above a circular foot with thick moldings. Each vase is supported by a two-piece octagonal pedestal that consists of a tall column above a robust plinth with ogee molding. Our wide Italian tazza-form vases can be used as decorative elements, flanking an entryway or set of stairs. They would also make wonderful planters for any outdoor landscape.
